The djembe drum has become the most popular African drum in the Western world. The Djembe drum is a uniquely “African” drum and beats to the rhythm, while capturing the soul of the African continent. It is for this reason that we feel that such a drum that is so ingrained in African culture and folklore should come from Africa.
Out of respect for the African drum makers who in effect are custodians of the traditions of the African people, we do not sell “African djembes” from Indonesia or China.

How our Djembes are made:
Our Djembe drums are made of single piece legally harvested mahogany that is hand carved by master craftsmen who play the Djembe professionally. The heads are made of premium quality goat skins. The rope used is non-stretch nylon which allows for excellent construction and tone-perfect tuning.
Our drums are hand-carved in West Africa and adhere to our strict quality controls to provide our customers with the best product on the market. We took the time to visit our manufacturer and work closely with them to communicate the quality standards that we expect and our customers deserve.
